Snack time is the best time! Today, the traditional snacks are still a "go-to" while we taste test new healthier choices on the market too.
As an adult when you grab a snack, on the go, sitting in front of the computer or TV, you might find yourself thinking about when you were a kid anxiously waiting to see what snack mom put in your lunchbox. When my kids visit, it’s always the pantry they go to first to find their favorite childhood snacks, or what new finds I discovered at the supermarket, online, tried or reviewed.
You can always count on a good snack to start off a conversation with guaranteed facial expressions and comments such as yum, ooh, eh or even the one my son says "Nope, I'm not trying it!" Some snacks are great to open up and eat right away, and others are fun to make. Whether you're trying to stay healthy or indulge, here are some of my favorites that your whole family might love. I bet some will become a few of your new favorites.
Warrior Mix
Granola is a great snack and I love eating it right out of the bag! The Warrior Mix line from Bee Free is a delicious almond, seeds, honey mix: a soft, and chewy snack. Pair it with yogurt, add to a bowl of milk or enjoy it with a good cup of tea. The granola is gluten free, dairy-free, soy-free, and plant-based. Bee Free is about embracing your inner warrior and offers opportunities for people with autism.
Kind Bars
It's always breakfast time somewhere. And for me, it's all about a healthy and tasty option, especially when I'm in a hurry. With Kind breakfast bars you enjoy a snack made from 100% whole grains and the bars are gluten free. You can choose from a variety of breakfast bars, 100 calorie bars or protein bars. Every time I bite into one of my favorites I know I'm being kind to my body.
Tidbits
When it's time for a wonderful snack you need to reach for Tidbits Fun Bites. Each bite offers a great flavor of a meringue cookie: 1 or 2 calories each! Their literally the best snacks for everyone. I've put my favorite flavors out after dinner and the entire bag is gone within minutes. With nine flavors to choose from, every flavor is available in their three lines; Regular, Keto and Diabetic. My new favorite snack from Tidbits is their line of coconut macaroons. OMG!
Naked Cookies
You'll never feel guilty when having a protein cookie. Sugar Naked Cookies are a great treat for anyone who loves sweets but also trying to eat healthy. With only 210 calories, 10g of grass-fed whey protein, and only 1-5g of sugar you won't have to worry about your waistline. It's one of my favorite on-the-go snacks. There are three flavors: Chocolate Chip, Oatmeal Raisin, and Sugar Cookie. These cookies are also gluten-free! And, that's great for my gluten-free friends.
Zelle Organic Fruit Jel Pouch
Instead of a gelatin cup, grab a Zelle Organic Fruit Jel Pouch. This superfood fruit pouch is an organic plant-based snack with no added sugar, artificial flavors, dyes, and animal gelatin. With its twist cap, this 3.5oz re-sealable squeeze pouch offers you a delicious way to eat your fruit. Guarantee you'll go "wow, this is great." I did. Through their partnership with Feeding America, Zellee also donates thousands of pouches to food banks all across the country.
Glutenetto
After never having Linzer tarts for years I found Glutenetto gluten free Linzer in a store nearby my house. From the moment I opened the box and caught a scent of the cookies I couldn't wait to try one. The delectable taste, is like having a traditional Linzer tart. From that day on, I have enjoyed Cookie con Amore's Glutenetto's different selections as my go to dessert snack. From the Assorted Linzer, Biscottini and Wedding Cookies I am never without a delicious gluten-free cookie. I have taken these cookies on trips and create trays to bring to family and friend's homes.
Mary's Gone Crackers
Add these sweet treat replacements to your daily snack routine! Mary's Gone Crackers are a graham-style snack that's plant-based and gluten-free. There are a variety of flavors to choose from and also a variety from their Real Thin Cracker line. I love adding a nice Gruyere cheese to the tomato and basil thin crackers. Always an experience when munching on a few.
Hippeas
I was introduced to Hippeas a few years back and from that moment they've been a big part of my snack group. These very tasty chick pea puffs will never disappoint. Their gluten-free, organic and kosher certified. No matter which flavor you choose, mine being the nacho vibe, you truly enjoy the great taste of this light, crunchy and healthy snack.
So, the next time you're looking in your pantry, I hope you reach for one of these flavorful snacks I've introduced you to. Just remember to invite me over to enjoy them with you.
